Ben Samuels (MO-02) Added To NewDem Action Fund’s Candidate Watchlist

“Missourians need a new representative in Congress who will fight to bring people and jobs back to the St. Louis region and protect our democratic system.”

Creve Coeur, MO – Today, Ben Samuels’ campaign for Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District was added to the NewDem Action Fund’s Candidate Watch List.

The New Democrat Coalition is the largest Democratic ideological caucus within the House of Representatives, representing 40% of House Democrats. Its membership is composed of 97 forward-thinking Democrats who are committed to pro-economic growth, pro-innovation, and fiscally responsible policies.

Congressman Brad Schneider, Chair of NewDem Action Fund, released the following statement: “Ben Samuels is committed to working across the aisle to find solutions and improve the lives of working people. NewDem Action Fund is proud to add him to our candidate watch list.”

“I’d like to thank NewDem Action Fund for believing in our campaign and offering their support to help us flip Missouri’s 2nd district,” said Ben Samuels, Democratic candidate for Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District. “Missourians need a new representative in Congress who will fight to bring people and jobs back to the St. Louis region and protect our democratic system.”

The NewDem Action Fund, the campaign arm of the caucus, has been integral to winning and keeping a Democratic House majority. In 2018, the group helped flip 33 out of 40 target seats. In 2020, NewDems were the only ideological caucus to flip seats for Democrats.
